The largest photovoltaic park in Romania was inaugurated in Targu-Carbunesti

 

The photovoltaic park in Targu-Carbunesti, the largest of this kind in the country, was inaugurated on Friday in the presence of the local and county authorities, but also of Minister Delegate for Water, Forests and Fisheries, Lucia Ana Varga. The photovoltaic park was built on an area of 52 hectares and includes over 80,000 solar panels, the investment amounting to over EUR 35mln. “It’s the largest photovoltaic park in the country. As advantages for the local community, it increases the local budget by 4.7% or, by EUR 150 per day; the money comes from the concession fee, the tax on buildings, on land, and from now on several dozens of people will work here. This land had an almost zero value, and now this value increased by ten times”, the mayor of Targu-Carbunesti, Mihai Mazilu, stated. The photovoltaic park has an installed power of 20MWh and its construction took about eight months, over 100 employees working on this investment. The investment amounts to EUR 35mln, with 46,000MW per year, according to Adrian Pavelescu, director on renewable energy of the investing company.
