Nabucco partners signed the Association and Subscription Agreement on Tuesday in Bucharest

 

Partners of Nabucco gas pipeline project signed the Association and Subscription Agreement for potential investors in the project, on Tuesday, in Bucharest, Minister Delegate for Energy Constantin Nita announced in a press conference. “The reunion in Bucharest is the fifth meeting of the Nabucco Committee and the last before the decision of the Shah Deniz Consortium. Tomorrow (Wednesday – Ed.), in Brussels the European Energy Council will take place. Important decisions will be made there in terms of the energy future in the European Union. The signing of the Association and Subscription Agreement is a document that lays the foundations for the operation of the Nabucco international company, after the accession of Shah Deniz Consortium. Also, we sent the message on the regional importance of the Nabucco project. A third point on the agenda of the meeting was affirming the partners’ support for this project”, Constantin Nita stated. The agreement signed in Bucharest sets the conditions under which other investors may participate to association and subscription. “The agreement lays the foundations for investors to get involved in the Nabucco project. We established the conditions under which other investors can participate in association and subscription. We prepared the entire ground in the event in which Nabucco is selected by Shah Deniz as preferred route It’s an important step for the selection of the final route, selection that will take place at the end of June 2013.
