Transelectrica Bucharest (BSE: TEL) to limit wind energy takeovers in the national energy system

The national energy system will be able to take over energy from wind energy producers only depending on forecasts they make. So far, these forecasts were not taken into account, which makes difficult maintaining a balance in the energy system. Therefore, Transelectrica, the power grid operator, has prepared a procedure for setting the maximum power possible to be installed in wind plants and the additional power reserves necessary for the safety of the National Energy System. The procedure has been authorized by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE). The powerful development in recent years of wind parks has started to produce, for a while, discontent in the Romanian energy market. The representatives of the production units of energy from classical sources and of the national transmission operator Transelectrica have accused lately the lack of clear rules for wind energy producers, which could lead to strong imbalance in the energy system.
