Decision on the approval of measures to reduce the number of green certificates in the situations stipulated in art. 6 paragraph (2) letters a), c) and f) of Law no. 220/2008 for the establishment of the promotion system of energy generation from renewable energy sources.

Issuer: The Government of Romania

Pursuant to art. 108 of the Constitution of Romania, republished, and art. 29 paragraph (3) of Law no. 220/2008 on the establishment of the promotion system for energy production from renewable sources, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions,

The Government of Romania issues this decision.

Article 1

Approving the measures to reduce the number of green certificates under the situations referred to in art. 6 paragraph (2) letters a), c) and f) of Law no. 220/2008 for the establishment of the promotion system for energy production from renewable energy sources, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions, for power plants/units owned by electricity producers from renewable energy sources, accredited by the National Energy Regulatory Authority for the implementation of the promotion system through green certificates after the date of entry into force of this decision, as follows:

a)      0.7 green certificates for each 1MWh produced and delivered, if the hydropower plants are new, with installed powers of no more than 10MW;

b)      0.5 green certificates, until 2017, and 0.25 green certificates as of 2018, for each 1MWh produced and delivered by wind energy producers;

c)      3 green certificates for each 1MWh produced and delivered by solar energy producers.

 Article 2

This decision shall enter into force on January 1^st 2014.
