Average electricity consumption estimated for October 2014 – March 2015 to grow by 5.2%

 

Electricity consumption estimated for the period of October 2014 – March 2015 will increase, on average, by approximately 5.2% compared to data quantified in the similar interval of the previous year, while the value of financing this winter’s program for fuel acquisition will be RON 4.532bn, according to the Winter Program in the energy sector for ensuring the safe and stable functioning of the National Power System, in public debate. In the Substantiation Note of the Winter Program in the energy sector, it is shown that its main objective is to assess the country’s electricity consumption in the mentioned period to satisfy it at parameters of supply quality and safety, in conditions of safe and stable functioning of the National Power System.  Also, it aims at determining the energy resources necessary, as well as assessing the related financial resources, identifying the financing sources. In terms of electricity, for the period of October 2014 – March 2015, the National Forecast Committee has provided for a decline in consumption by 1%, while the National Power Dispatcher mentioned an average increase in consumption by around 5.2% compared to the achievements of the similar period last year.
