The Electrician’s Trophy competition has nominated its winners

At this year’s edition of the Electrician’s Trophy, the most important professional competition in the electricity field, the team of Societatea de Distribuție a Energiei Electrice Transilvania Sud (SDEE Transilvania Sud) ranked first in the category of electricity metering, verification of metering groups. Also, the team of Societatea de Întreținere și Servicii Energetice Transilvania Nord (SISE Transilvania Nord) was the winner of the category Installation and repair of medium and low voltage distribution installations.

The jury of the competition, made up of representatives of all participating companies, decided that, in the category of electricity distribution, the trophy will go this year to the team of Distribuție Oltenia. In the category of energy services, the trophy was awarded to the team of Delgaz Grid.

The complete list of winners:

1. The category Operation of 110 kV electrical transformer stations/medium voltage – the team of Distribuție Oltenia;
2. The category Operation of medium and low voltage distribution network – the team of Distribuție Oltenia;
3. The category PRAM – the team of Distribuție Oltenia;
4. The category Electricity metering, verification of metering groups – the team of SDEE Transilvania Sud;
5. Category Installation and repair of primary equipment from power stations – the team of Delgaz Grid;
6. The category Installation and repair of medium and low voltage distribution installations – the team of Societatea de Întreținere și Servicii Energetice Transilvania Nord;
7. The category Fault detection medium and low voltage underground electrical lines – the team of Delgaz Grid.

At its XXXVII edition, the competition took place during 11-13 July in Sinaia and marked the 40th anniversary of its launch. In the national phase, the best 114 electricians from all eight electricity distribution companies participated (SDEE Transilvania Nord, SDEE Transilvania Sud, SDEE Muntenia Nord, e-distribuţie Banat, e-distribuţie Muntenia, e-distribuţie Dobrogea, Distribuţie Oltenia and Delgaz Grid), as well as from the segment of maintenance and energy services. This year’s edition was organized by SDEE Muntenia Nord and the themes approached, as each time, a wide range of activity-specific issues, including simulations of emergency situations.

The Electrician’s Trophy was initiated by Electrica in 1977 and is part of the series of events dedicated to the Power Engineer’s Day (20 July). Over the last four decades, the competition has attracted the interest and involvement of an increasing number of professionals, the national stage giving the opportunity to the most valuable electricians to demonstrate their skills.
