Romania ranks the 34th in the global hierarchy of attractiveness for investments in the renewable energy sector (EY study)

Romania maintains 34th place in the global hierarchy of attractiveness for investments in the renewable energy sector, and among technologies used the country has the highest ratings for solar energy and biomass, according to EY report, Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI). “Romania maintained its position in the global hierarchy of attractiveness for investments in the renewable energy sector, amid absence of major decisions affecting the relation between the interests of investors, of energy consumers (payers of bills) and of the state. But it is likely to see in the future a decline in this hierarchy, as large investors complete their calculations on losses incurred in Romania, and other countries will advance in the fight against climate change by improving the investment climate for renewable energy”, said Valeriu Binig, Transaction Advisory Partner, EY Romania.
