OPCOM to introduce, as of January 2014, a new real-time energy trading platform

OPCOM energy exchange will introduce, probably from January 1^st 2014, a new electricity trading platform, in real time, called OTC (over the counter). “OTC is a new product, which we hope to become operational on January 1^st. Among the OTC advantages we can mention the fact that a buyer can immediately use the energy it buys”, Ion Lungu, AFEER President, stated for Mediafax. Contracts on the OTC platform are concluded following direct negotiation between seller and buyer and in general the prices and amounts traded are not made public.
