Marcel Adrian Piteiu, director of Romgaz’s Exploration Division, has resigned

 

Marcel Adrian Piteiu, director of Romgaz’s Exploration Diision and former managing director of the state-owned company, has resigned from office, after the National Agency for Integrity (ANI) had announced today that it requested the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) his investigation for committing crimes of conflict of interest and corruption offenses. ANI issued today a communique showing that following assessments made it found indications on committing crimes of conflict of interest, as well as other similar criminal offenses of corruption by Adrian Piteiu, because, while exercising the service, as a legal representative of SNGN Romgaz SA Medias, he was part in decision-making and drafted documents in the process of public procurement contracts award, by approving purchase requisitions, award documentations, reports and decisions on appoint the winning bids and by concluding commercial contracts with SC Aprov SA Medias (company where he was director during 2011-2005), the patrimonial benefit amounting to RON 66,454,374 (about EUR 15,218,442), Agerpres informs.
