Investment fund in energy, with assets worth EUR 10bn

All the state’s stakes in the energy industry will be gathered in a mega-conglomerate worth EUR 10bn that would include all the state’s stakes in the energy field and which will run large investments in the field, according to a bill prepared by three PSD deputies. According to the project, the Romanian Fund of Strategic Investments in Energy and Energy Resources will include the state’s stakes in the most valuable companies of its portfolio, namely Romgaz, Transgaz, Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, Complexul Energetic Oltenia, Rompetrol Rafinare, Petrom, Conpet, Oil Terminal, Electrica, Transelectrica, Electrocentrale Bucharest and Complexul Hunedoara. Also, it would include stakes in several privatized companies, where the state is a minority shareholder, such as Gdf Suez Energy Romania, E.ON Energie or E.ON Gaz Distributie.
