Hidroelectrica sold energy on OPCOM worth EUR 16mln

 

State-owned company Hidroelectrica sold on Thursday energy worth RON 70.3mln (EUR 16mln) on OPCOM energy exchange. The company sold 367,200MWh, at the price of RON 191.44/MWh, with delivery during March 1st – December 31st. “With the conclusion of the 10 transactions, worth a total of RON 70.29mln, the number of contracts concluded by Hidroelectrica on the energy exchange managed by OPCOM reaches 71, totaling an amount of 3.04mln MWh, worth RON 669.95mln (approximately EUR 149mln), at an average price of RON 218.7/MWh”, a company communique reads. Since it entered into insolvency, the company recorded on the competitive market incomes of EUR 61mln, higher than if it sold the same amount of energy to traders, with the price of RON 130/MWh. Hidroelectrica is controlled by the Ministry of Economy and entered into insolvency in June last year. The official receiver is Euro Insol.
