ArcelorMittal Galati bought energy from Nuclearelectrica worth almost EUR 77mln

 

Steel mill ArcelorMittal Galati has ensured its electricity consumption for March 2013 – September 2014, buying from the state-owned company Nuclearelectrica energy worth RON 337.1mln (EUR 76.8mln). ArcelorMittal Galati bought an amount of 1.86TWh, through a transaction carried out on the energy exchange managed by OPCOM. The plant, one of the largest energy consumers in Romania, will pay RON 181/MWh. ArcelorMittal Galati is part of the ArcelorMittal group, controlled by India’s billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. Nuclearelectrica is controlled by the Ministry of Economy.
