ANRE reduced zonal tariffs for introducing electricity into the network

The Regulatory Committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) last week approved ANRE Order 87/2015 on the approval of zonal tariffs related to the transmission service for the introduction of electricity into the network (TG) and the average tariff for introducing electricity into the network, charged by economic operators in the electricity sector. According to the Order, TG tariffs will be reduced depending on the area by up to RON 8.93/MWh, which means a decrease in the average trading price by around 4-5%.

“The reduction of TG tariffs depending on the area by up to RON 8.93/MWh will lead to a decrease in the average trading price in the wholesale energy market by around 4-5%, as well as to an increase in export opportunities for Romanian electricity producers. In the short term, this measure will have an insignificant effect on prices to end-consumers, because tariffs for extraction from the network must be adjusted so as to ensure the coverage of justified costs of Transelectrica SA”, ANRE shows.
