A new player in the energy market: Gas producer Romgaz has started to sell electricity

Romgaz Medias has entered for the first time the centralized market of bilateral contracts for electricity, managed by OPCOM (the energy exchange), launching an offer for selling an energy package of 429,065MWh. The auction will take place on March 21st, almost two months after the takeover by Romgaz of Iernut power plant. The minimum price asked is close to the market average – RON 204.5/MWh, excluding VAT. The price also includes the transport component, the delivery period being April 1st – December 31st 2013. Romgaz took over in January from Elcen, Electrocentrale Mures Branch, the Iernut thermal power plant.
