Transelectrica’s tariff for electricity transmission to increase by almost 5%

 

Average tariff charged by power grid operator Transelectrica Bucharest (BSE: TEL) for electricity transmission will increase as of January 1st by 4.72%, from RON 21.16/MWh to RON 22.16/MWh, after ANRE approved last week the increase of certain tariffs. The company transported in the first nine months of the year an amount of 38.3mlkn MWh, by 4.4% below the volume in the similar period of the last year, of 40.1mlkn MWh, according to the financial information for the first nine months submitted by Transelectrica to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE). Although the energy amount decreased, incomes from this activity increased by 8.12%, to RON 825.3mln (EUR 187.2mln), while the electricity transmission tariff climbed 12.7%, from RON 18.77/MWh to RON 21.16/MWh. Average electricity transmission tariff consists of the tariff for introducing electricity in the network and the tariff for extracting electricity from the network. From January 1st 2014, the tariff for functional system services will also increase, by 52.63%, from RON 1.14/MWh to RON 1.74/MWh. Tariff for technological system services has already increased from August by 25.69%, from RON 9.77/MWh to RON 12.28/MWh. Under such circumstances, the tariff for the system service will be as of next year RON 15.02/MWh, by 37.67% higher than early this year, of RON 10.91/MWh.
