OPCOM: 2,581 green certificates traded in the first nine months

 

The number of green certificates traded in the first nine months of 2016 on the Centralized Market for Green Certificates amounted to 2,581 units, by around 14 times lower than in the similar period of last year, when 35,978 units were traded, according to data published by the energy market operator OPCOM.

In September, 52 offers for sale and one purchase offer were launched and 300 green certificates were traded, at a price of RON 132.4045/certificate. In the similar period of last year, 3 green certificates were traded.

On the Market for Green Certificates there were 886 participants registered at the end of September 2016.

Last year, the number of green certificates traded on CMGC fell over 73 times, to 36,618 certificates, compared to over 2.675 million traded in 2014.

The Government approved for 2016, at the proposal of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), a quota of 12.15% of renewable energy, compared to 17% initially provided for in Law no. 220/2008.
