Interest in the wind energy sector begins to fade

The renewable energy bubble will explode in the coming period, interest in the wind energy sector already starting to drop, Codrin Matei, managing partner of Crosspoint’s Investment Banking Division, has stated for Agerpres. The energy market will follow in some degree the trend of the real estate market and I expect this bubble that has already been created to explode in the next period. Investments in wind energy are already losing their intensity and interest shown for them has begun to decline. We are in a situation in which supply is higher than demand”, Matei explained for Agerpres. According to him, when such discrepancies occur, the transition from an explosive development to decline comes, at a certain extent, naturally. In the first two months of this year, production from wind power plants reached 873.6mln KWh, up by 432.9mln KWh against the same period last year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Established in 2005, Crosspoint is a real estate and financial consulting firm in Romania.
