Hidroelectrica: Electricity prices will drop for all consumers, because Romania has a production surplus

Electricity prices will fall for all consumers, because Romania has a production surplus that must be sold, Remus Borza, representative of Hidroelectrica’s official receiver, stated on Wednesday, according to agerpres.ro.  “It’s for the first time this year when supply is higher than demand. Energy prices will fall for everyone, because we have a production surplus and we need to learn to sell”, Remus Borza stated. Regulated electricity tariffs increased by 6% as of January 1st 2013, in July 1st another increase by 2% following, according to the National Energy Regulatory Authority. Also, the final bill will include an increase by 8% representing green energy, which means extra RON 2 to the monthly invoice.
