Enel Green Power last year invested EUR 251mln in Romania
Enel Green Power last year invested in Romania EUR 251mln for the construction of wind farms, after in 2011 the allocated amount was EUR 330mln, according to data announced on Tuesday by the renewable energy division of the Italian group Enel. “We consolidated our presence on important markets such as the U.S., Canada and Romania, but also on emerging markets such as Mexico and Guatemala”, the CEO of Enel Green Power, Francesco Starace, stated in a press release. Late last year Enel Green Power announced the connection to the network of three new wind parks located in Dobrogea, with a total installed capacity of 206MW, which involved total investments of around EUR 340mln. After inaugurating these units, the company operates in Romania wind farms with a power of approximately 500MW. Last year Enel Green Power posted total revenues of EUR 2.68bn, up 14.6% y/y, and net profits of EUR 431mln, climbing 4.6%. Enel Green Power has an installed capacity of 8,000MW, especially in wind farms (4,315MW). The company also produces energy in hydropower plants (2,635MW), geothermal units, solar panels, biomass plants or cogeneration plants. Enel group is present in Romania since 2005 and activates in the area of electricity production, distribution and supply.
