Journalist Daniel Apostol, appointed secretary general of oil companies’ association ROPEPCA

Romanian Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association (ROPEPCA) announces the appointment of Daniel Apostol as Secretary General of the Association. Daniel Apostol is a highly experienced journalist, who has been involved for many years in different ways in supporting the business environment in Romania.  I am confident that his involvement in the association will bring more efficiency in public communication of ROPEPCA activities”, said Artur Stratan, Acting President of ROPEPCA. Also, ROPEPCA has relaunched its website – www.ropepca.ro – highlighting the association’s proposed mission, membership conditions and all of the association’s position papers on various legal and business subjects related to the business environment in Romania. ROPEPCA will continue to provide Government and all institutional partners with industry-specific data, statistics and forecasts so as to satisfy the need for public information, to support the industry growth, and to contribute to the development of the entire Romanian economy. ROPEPCA was founded in November 2012, aiming to strengthen the image of the onshore upstream sector in Romania, and to enhance its relationship and communication with the state, government, regional and local authorities, national agencies, and general public. ROPEPCA gathers the most active members in the onshore industry and now comprises 19 companies: ADX Energy, Amromco, Aurelian Petroleum, Beach Petroleum, Chevron Romania Exploration and Production, East West Petroleum, Expert Petroleum, Fora Oil & Gas, Hunt Oil, Moesia Oil & Gas, NIS Petrol, OMV Petrom, Panfora Oil and Gas (MOL Group), Raffles Energy, Rompetrol, Repsol, Stratum Energy, Winstar Satu Mare/Serinus Energy, Zeta Petroleum. Currently ROPEPCA’s members hold a vast majority of the onshore concession blocks in Romania, which in 2014 represented a cumulative investment of 1.5bn EUR, a turnover of almost 5bn EUR, a tax contribution of 2.5bn EUR to the state budget and created and maintained 18,200 jobs.
