Hidroelectrica: The gross profit doubled in Q1/2015, to RON 405mln

Hidroelectrica recorded in Q1/2015, a gross profit of RON 405mln, more than double compared to that posted in the similar period last year, of RON 178mln.

“Performance was due to both the high level of electricity output in this period, producing and delivering an amount of electricity of 4711GWh, by 37% higher than the 3,443GWh produced and delivered in the same period last year, but especially the implementation of a proactive, visionary management, commited regarding the management of company’s resources and values”, a company communique reads.

The turnover also recorded a significant growth, by 40% compared to last year, respectively from RON 676mln in Q1/2014 to RON 944mln in Q1/2015.

In 2010, when Hidroelectrica achieved the greatest production in the history of the company, i.e. 19.8TWh, of which only 4,149GWh in the first three months of the year, the turnover in the first quarter was RON 661mln, and the gross profit – only RON 83mln, accounting for 20% of the gross profit recorded in the first three months of 2015.
