Electricity prices to be reduced on average by 1.3% as of July 1st

Price of electricity supplied to end-consumers will be reduced on average by 1.3% as of July 1^st 2013, according to the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE). Following the half-yearly analysis, ANRE proposed to the Regulatory Committee to reduce regulated electricity tariffs for end-customers and the Regulatory Committee approved in the meeting from June 21^st the Order no. 40/2013 on Regulated tariffs for electricity supplied by suppliers of last resort to household consumers and those assimilated to household consumers that haven’t exercised their eligibility right. Also, it approved the Order no. 41/2013 on Regulated tariffs for electricity supplied by suppliers of last resort to end-consumers which have not exercised their eligibility right, other than household consumers and those assimilated to household consumers, as well as price for reactive energy. Minister for Energy Constantin Nita has recently stated that energy bills could drop by 5-10% from July 1^st.
