Romania’s natural gas imports fell 34.7% in four months

 

Romania imported in the first four months of 2013 an amount of usable natural gas of 529,500 toe, by 34.7% (315,300 toe) lower than in the similar period of 2012, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics. In the first four months of this year, the domestic natural gas production totaled 2,908mln toe, being by 18,000 toe (0.6%) lower than in the similar period of 2012. Proven natural gas reserves of Romania amounted, in late 2011, to 100bcm, down by 500bcm against 2010, when they were estimated at 600bcm and accounted for 0.1% of the world reserves, compared with 0.3% in the previous year. World natural gas reserves were estimated by BP at 208,400bcm.
