CE Oltenia wants to become a renewable energy producer

Oltenia Energy Complex could build next year several solar parks in the area of slag and ash deposits closed in recent years, which would allow the company to become a renewable energy producer, the private manager of the company, Laurentiu Ciurel, announced. Laurentiu Ciurel went last week in a visit to China, coordinated by Energy Minister Constantin Nita. Laurentiu Ciurel stated on Monday in a press conference held in Targu Jiu that he had discovered, on the occasion of his visit to China, the possibility to build photovoltaic parks at extremely low prices, which would allow the company to become a renewable energy producer. “The cost for obtaining a megawatt is around EUR 600-900,000, four-five times less than a few years ago. That makes such an investment extremely attractive. We have in our next year’s budget allocated an amount for only 10MW, but we try an extension if we get in touch with one of the companies there, China National Electric, which has expressed availability for such”, CE Oltenia manager said.
