ANRE will propose a lower number of green certificates for solar energy as of 2014

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) will suggest the Government the decrease in the number of green certificates granted for electricity generation from solar sources as of January 1st 2014, Zoltan Nagy, member of ANRE’s Regulatory Committee, stated on Wednesday. “We are now working on the market monitoring report for 2012 and within two or three weeks it will be ready. We will propose the Government to reduce the number of green certificates for solar energy as of January 1st 2014”, Zoltan Nagy stated. He also specified that in 2012 ANRE prepared a report showing that there is an overcompensation in the solar and hydro segments and suggested the Government to reduce the number of certificates granted from 6/MWh to 5 for solar energy and from 3 to 2.3 certificates for hydro energy.
